What is 1800 Bulk Bill?

We believe that all Australians should have access to affordable health care when they require it.

1800BulkBill is a directory service providing communities with information relating to our nearest Medicare Bulk Billing medical practices that are also open extended hours.

Calling 1800 BULK BILL (1800 285 524) will connect you to one of our staff who will be able to assist with finding one of our centres that is closest to you.

Why do you only list a small number of centres?

We list our centres that provide bulk billing services and which are accessible to patients with extended hours.

The centres that we list are operated by Idameneo (No.123) Pty Ltd or its associated companies.

Are there any closer bulk billing medical centres in my area?

There may be closer bulk billing medical centres, however they are not listed in this directory.

What are the opening hours of the centres?

Opening hours for each centre may vary – please refer to the post code search function to find your nearest centre and click on ‘More Info’.

Do I need to make an appointment to see a Doctor?

Most of our centres are walk-in centres so no appointment is necessary to see a Doctor. At our walk-in centres you can see the first available Doctor or a Doctor of your choice.

Can I choose to see any Doctor I want?

As our centres are walk-in centres you can see the first available Doctor, however, if you have a preference for a certain Doctor you are more than welcome to be placed in the queue so see them provided they’re rostered for that day.

How long will I need to wait to see a Doctor?

Every consultation is different and we are unable to advise of a wait time, however if you attend the centre, you will be seen to by the first available doctor.

Can I have a Doctor come to my home?

Our centres are a walk-in service, however, if you speak to your Doctor an arrangement can be made depending on your circumstances.

Please note that home visits are provided at the Doctor’s discretion and may not always be available.

Can I still see a Doctor if I don’t have my Medicare card with me?

If you have attended the centre before, you can see a GP without a Medicare card provided you can provide another form of identification. Otherwise there will be an out of pocket expense.

If you have not attended the centre before and do not have a Medicare card with you, there will an out of pocket expense.

Do you bulk bill IVF?

Yes we do. There are some out of pocket expenses which aren’t covered by Medicare including a blood test. You can expect to pay a total of approx. $810 per treatment cycle. For more information about Primary IVF or to speak with someone, visit primaryivf.com.au

Can you tell me where I can find a bulk billing dentist?

The government announced the closure of the Medicare Chronic Disease Dental Scheme from 1st December 2013. No Medicare benefits will be paid for dental services provided under Medicare dental items from this date. The cost of any future dental services will need to be covered by the patient.

The Medicare Teen Dental Plan closed on 31st December 2013. The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) replaced the Medicare Teen Dental Plan from 1st Jan 2014. To find out if you are eligible or for any other inquiries, please contact Medicare on 13 20 11 or visit

Will all my pathology tests be bulk billed?

Pathology is covered for bulk billing only for Medicare rebateable tests as per the MBS (Medicare Benefits Schedule).

Following the announcement from Medicare, the billing policy applies only to patients who are eligible for a Medicare rebate and for tests listed on the Medicare Benefits Schedule. If any of your tests are not covered on this schedule, you will not receive a rebate. You will need to pay for these tests in full.
